On Jupiter Street, in the heart of Makati, sits the shrine for soulful house and the best retro nights in Manila.
The Entrance
The ethos for Stardust was conceived during the pandemic over numerous Zoom calls among lifetime friends and Manila nightlife legends across the globe spanning Manila, London and NYC. We wanted to build a music lounge like no other where we would compromise on nothing: the best music, the best sound system, the best interiors, and the best food.
The Bar
Starting with the location, we wanted to reside in the heart of Makati which has been the epicenter of Manila in its modern history. For our interiors, we were led by the creative genius of Angie Gonazalez Hager who wanted to evoke a sense of luxury with a throwback to the days when clubgoers cared about well-appointed spaces with beautiful furniture and fixtures. For our food, we went through a rigorous process of selecting a chef and sous-chefs who were skilled at creating dishes that transcended the typical fare you would find at a night spot.
Above all, we focused on the music and just as important, the quality of the sound system. Our sound is brought to you by Tractionsound (www.tractionsound.com), a UK-based, boutique high-end speaker company that specializes in non-compression technology. These are highly engineered speakers designed to play analog sound in intimate spaces. What this really means is that you can have meaningful, life-changing conversations with your companions while feeling the power and warmth of one of the world's most coveted sound systems.
The Booth
... and of course, the songs themselves. We source our records from the top record stores in London, New York and Seoul, focusing particularly on Soulful House, which is just a term of art for the new disco sound played around the world today. Our resident and guest DJs represent the elite group of master spinners who have ruled Manila nightlife for decades, bringing their unmatched song selection and curation skills each night behind the decks.
